Block Obama Party ‘09
The first Block Obama Annual Party jumped off last year in the back alley of a small apartment building in Oakland, California. Aaron Dolores, a local Oakland resident, decided that he would make a difference in the presidential election by rallying up the troops in his own neighborhood and get them all registered to vote! It was a total success. The alley became full with music playing, barbeque cooking, people celebrating, and the voter registration table was busy all day. I had a chance to speak with Aaron Dolores after this year’s event about future plans for Block Obama Party. Aaron said that this year was so successful that he plans to turn the party into an actual bay area event with performers and even more conscious culture.
